The Bevel Baseline trimmer has been trusted by men with thick beards or skin prone to ingrown hairs for several years. It is ideal for detailing, selective cutting and electric shaving. But it’s also missing something important: the ability to customize the length you want to trim. It’s certainly a workhorse, but it’s hard to recommend to the average user because it doesn’t offer a full quarter-inch finish.
That’s why I was excited to test the new Bevel Pro, which combines the precision of a beard trimmer and a hair clipper. It’s what hairdressers dream of: a weighted, wireless device with the muscle a hair clipper needs and the adjustments you need for things like a beard and scalp.
While there is a lot to like about this device, let me walk you through some of its best features. It charges in 4 hours and its bright LED display shows battery life and gap adjustment. With the touch of a button, you can adjust the distance between the guard and the blade from 0mm to 2.5mm, allowing you to perform ultra-low fades without any awkwardness. It also comes with interchangeable clipper and trimmer blades, as well as five interchangeable guard heads (barbershop sizes 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4 that cut half an inch); Easy to install and remove.
Pro has propelled Bevel to the top of the barbershop along with beloved names like Andis, Wahl and BaBylissPRO. It has the same clean lines and the same basic features as the brand’s original trimmer, but its versatility and beard and hair prowess make it one of the few combination devices I recommend. Due to its popularity, it won’t ship until early May if you buy it now, but it’s worth the wait.
